Jesus told parables; the Bible is full of stories, long-extended narratives or short vignettes. Even the various sets of rules and descriptions take in place inside stories. Stories are the basic metaphysical building blocks of understanding and then explaining our human experience. Therefore the best place to start a discipleship course is by seeing how God through the Bible tells one big story and everything God does or says fits into one coherent narrative.
